The Evolution of Snow Plowing
The first snowplow used in the United States, was in 1862 in Milwaukee WI. by attaching a carved wooden board to the front of a horse drawn wagon.
A lot has changed in the past 150 years with the way we clear snow. In the last 5-10 years even more has changed with new technology coming out every year. American Snow and Ice has seen a lot of changes with equipment in the last 40 years. We started out with simple small strait blade plows on normal pickup trucks with limited abilities. Today we have some of the best snow removal equipment available.

We have added multiple new extended wing plows – V- plows. We also have Added multiple front-end loaders with Large Snow Containment Plows, this helps move larger amounts of snow quicker, With the new advances in Containment plows we can now clear the ground cleaner with less chances we leave icy spots in the parking lots, this give us a safer walking area for our clients.

As all our clients have special needs and each property is very different from one another, we take pride in building a Working Snow Plan with each client. Working with the front office of each client and the plowing crew on the ground to build a snow plan that works is just one of the things that sets American Snow and Ice apart from our competitors.
All of our snow crews also use a special app for Winter Events called Yeti Snow Management. With this app we know where all our crews are in real time. Our crews also will record the weather conditions at each property and will take beginning and ending pictures that we are able to share with you if requested. This way you don’t have to drive to your property to see what your property looks like. You now can stay in your warm house and have us email you.
It has been our goal to build long-lasting relationships with our clients, learning the changing needs of each client and to be proactive to these needs.
