De-Icing and Post Salting
One of the most important parts of any Winter Event is properly keeping ice and hardpack snow from forming on your property and walkways. Keeping your property clear from ice hazards is a big part of the Risk management that we provide at American Snow and Ice. Using the proper products for the temperature makes a huge difference. American snow and Ice uses specialized products to keep you safer.
Pre-Treatment
12-24 hours before a Winter Event we will start with a pre treatment of your parking areas and walkways. This pre -treatment is an essential part in being able to keep your property safe. Pre-treatment works in a few ways, First – it helps with melt the snow the first hour or two when the event first start. Second – pre treatment helps hold off the snow from being able to bond and stick to the surface, this holds off the hardpack and ice build up from vehicle traffic. Third-and MOST Important is in the first 3 hours of a Winter Event starting, is when most claims are issued for slip and falls. Being able to pre-treat and treat during the event can reduce or eliminate slip and falls.
Post Treatment
Once the Winter Event is completed we will do a final treatment to the property and make sure the property is safe an secure for our client.
Some storms may cause washouts or just the need of relocating of large snow piles. But most importantly, providing safe passage, clear sidewalks, roadways, entryways, and parking lots are signs of superb customer service and welcomes customers to your facility.
Re-Freeze
Our in house Weather reporting company has come up with a product called Veri freeze, this takes in such information as the daytime temperatures, night time temperatures and ground temperatures in a certain area and can predict when we need to be out looking for those icy spots. Our Team will return to your property and do spot checks for the first 48 hours after a Winter Event.
Walkways & Sidewalks
We treat walkways and sidewalks with special blended (CMA) salt products that are safter for the environment and track less product inside your building. These products have a bright color when applied so you can see the areas that have been treated and will melt snow and ice at -25* temperatures. This is another way our Team is here to keep your pedestrian traffic safer.
